Apprenticeships
Learn a trade. Build real experience.
Future Form’s carpentry apprenticeships combine paid employment on construction projects with formal training towards a Certificate III in Carpentry.
You will learn through practical experience alongside supervisors, tradespeople and project teams while completing the formal training required for your qualification.

Cadetships
Study. Work. Put it into practice.
A cadetship gives university students the opportunity to gain practical construction experience while completing their degree.
Future Form cadets generally work in a defined project, technical or business role, gaining experience while continuing their university studies.
Our experience to date has primarily included students studying:

- Business or Business Management
- Work Health & Safety
Other relevant disciplines may be considered where there is a suitable opportunity.

Rather than offering a fixed annual rotational graduate program, opportunities may become available across different parts of the business as Future Form grows.

A lot of girls simply aren’t shown construction as a career option.
We want them to know it is one.
Women can build careers across every part of construction, from carpentry, engineering and site delivery to project management, estimating, commercial, safety, finance and leadership.
You do not need to already know someone in construction. You do not need previous industry experience for every entry-level role. And you do not need to fit a particular stereotype to belong here.

Work out what a project will need, how much material and labour is required, and what it is likely to cost.

Do I need construction experience?
Not necessarily.
Many early-career opportunities are designed for people who are still learning. The requirements will depend on the particular role, and any essential experience or qualifications will be clearly explained when a position is advertised.
Do I need to go to university to work in construction?
No.
Construction has many different pathways.
Some careers require university qualifications. Others, including carpentry, can be entered through an apprenticeship and vocational qualification. There are also business and support roles with different education and experience requirements.
What if I don’t know what type of construction career I want?
That’s completely normal.
You do not need to decide on your whole career before you start.
Explore the different roles on this page and think about the kind of work you enjoy, whether that’s practical work, solving technical problems, organising people and activities, working with numbers, supporting people or helping a business operate.
Do I need a CV to register my interest?

What happens during a carpentry apprenticeship?
Future Form apprentices combine paid workplace experience with formal training towards a Certificate III in Carpentry.
You will develop practical skills on construction projects under appropriate supervision while completing the formal training required for your qualification.
Do I get paid as an apprentice?
Yes.
An apprenticeship is paid employment combined with formal training.
Employment conditions and apprentice wages are governed by the applicable workplace arrangements and legal requirements.
Can women become carpenters?
Yes.
Carpentry is a skilled trade available to women and men.
If you enjoy practical work, want to work on construction projects and are interested in completing a trade qualification, a carpentry apprenticeship may be worth exploring.
What is a cadetship?
A cadetship allows a university student to work in a role related to their studies while completing their degree.
At Future Form, cadets generally work within a project, technical or business team and gain practical construction experience alongside their university studies.
Is a cadetship the same as work experience?
No.
A cadet is generally employed in an ongoing role while completing university study.
Work experience is usually a shorter placement designed to help someone understand an industry, workplace or career.
What degrees are relevant to Future Form cadetships?
Future Form’s cadet opportunities may align with areas including Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Work Health & Safety and other relevant disciplines where a suitable role is available.
Can I work while I study?
Yes, depending on the opportunity.
Cadetships are specifically intended to allow university students to gain practical experience while completing their studies.
Working arrangements will be agreed for each role.
Does Future Form have graduate opportunities?
Yes. Future Form offers graduate opportunities in specific roles across the business when there is meaningful work, the right support and a genuine opportunity to learn and contribute.
Rather than following a fixed annual intake, graduate roles are created around real business and project needs. This means opportunities may become available at different times across areas such as engineering, project delivery, commercial, estimating, safety, accounting, finance, business management and other corporate functions.
Are Future Form’s early-career opportunities open to women?
Yes.
Women can build careers across trade, project, engineering, technical, commercial, safety and corporate roles in construction.
We encourage women to explore and apply for Future Form opportunities.
Does Future Form offer school work experience?
Future Form may provide work experience where there is a suitable learning opportunity and the business can provide appropriate supervision and support.
Depending on the opportunity, work experience may be based on a project site or within our Head Office or another business team.
Availability will depend on our projects and business needs at the time.

Where will I work?
It depends on the role.
Future Form operates across NSW, Queensland and the ACT.
Many construction roles are based on Future Form project sites, while others may be based at our head office in Austral, Western Sydney, or within other business teams.
The location will be included with each advertised opportunity.
Will I have someone to support me?
Yes.
Early-career employees work with a relevant manager, site manager, supervisor or experienced team member who provides direction, feedback and support appropriate to their role and experience.
Is safety training provided?
Yes.
Future Form’s site-based employees receive the inductions, training and supervision required for their role and work environment.
Working safely is an important part of every role at Future Form.
